Teen Figure Drawing

OPEN HOUSE PREVIEW: Please come with parents and friends on Tuesday night, Sept 25 at 7pm to visit the Carmel Visual Arts studio. Director, Rich Brimer and Studio Manager, Mason Williams will introduce the Teen Figure Drawing classes and a few of the figure models that will be involved.

This course is for art students who would like to practice the challenges of drawing from a live model. Working from human figure has long been a standard for artists. Having this experience will be an asset to building a strong portfolio. Participating students in this 8-week figure drawing class will learn the basics of drawing the human form using various drawing techniques with dry media. At the end of the program, students will have drawn the human figure from life and learned an early understanding of basic human anatomy.

Each class period will have a live model, using both nude and costume poses. Classes are instructed by working artists Rich Brimer and Mason Williams. Carmel Visual Arts hosts a public figure drawing classes on Monday nights from 6–8:30; Additionally, students registered in the Teen Figure Class can attend the Monday sessions at CVA for $5 per class (normally $15)
