A strong understanding of natural color and lighting is an important asset to any environment artist or fine art painter. In this 3-day gouache workshop, Mike Hernandez will cover the important fundamentals of composition design, color relationships, staging the light, atmospheric perspective, simplification and shape design through the use of gouache (students are welcome to use acrylic if desired). This is a great workshop for anyone interested in painting and would like to learn how to capture a rich sense of natural lighting and color into their artworks.
Day one will start with an in-classroom full lecture on all of the fundamentals mentioned above followed by an in-class demo and individual painting in and around the studio. Days two and three will be full days painting on-location. Locations to be determined.
